Local Missions

Here at CLC we believe the Lord has given the church today a very clear and concise call to action for the world in this Age of Grace. In Matthew 28 the word of God says:

18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Where God commissions He also provides the necessary resources. As we look in the scriptures we see his provision for this work in Acts 1:8:
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Through our Local Mission Outreaches we are fulfilling the call to “Therefore go” with the power of God to our Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria. Several times a year we schedule outreaches so that we can give out seasonal clothing, food, assistance in completing government forms, haircuts, school supplies, and many other needs. During the holiday season we strive to help the families in our community and surrounding area that have little provision for presents and food.

At CLC we feel very strongly that our church is a launching point for reaching out into the area around us. We have come to know that as we focus on the needs around us, striving to be the hands and heart of God, we find the Lord more than able to tend to those internal needs that we have within our church. We encourage you to be a part of this work. The satisfaction and peace of being a Christian comes in the “doing” for the Lord not simply the “receiving”.
